The flow is great.only cat limited so without cats it would be good for around 1500-2000hp. OP.rsutton1223 is running 1200+hp thru the stock mufflers with cutouts ahead of them. He did back to back pulls and the mufflers lost NO power. So you might benefit from a 3 inch setup to the rear axle, but I doubt there is any benefit of running a true 3 inch muffler. In other words.get rid of the crimped sections and do a 3 inch from the collectors back. ![]() Bit neck down to the factory mufflers if you want true quiet. But if you don't mind a slight increase in cruise sound volume it's amazing. I think most would find the low rumble at cruise very nice actually. The ONLY valid reason, IMHO, for a full 3 inch setup like mine would be sound. I will tell you flat out that setup is absolutely incredible from that angle. It has the rumble you are looking for but is also quiet. It doesn't have that sound quality that makes people look around for that annoyingly loud car and it doesn't attract cops. already has called 'dibs' on my 3 inch MagnaFlow mufflers LOL! It's not really what I was going for but it's a totally badass setup.īut for super quiet idle and cruise I am going back to stock mufflers soon. Too loud for me, too! Your greatest restriction is going to always be the 2.5" pipes in the muffler, and it's not just a restrictor plate, but an entire muffler system. If that's the case, you may as well retain the 2.5" pipes.Ģ) 2.5" pipes to 2.5" mufflers vs 2.5" pipes to cutout have proven to not loose power. However, I've not seen full 3" vs full 2.5" comparison. perhaps doesn't make a difference at all at our levels.ģ) Sound: When I went from my 2.5" to 3" setup, the sound decreased by a lot. and even at WOT, isn't bat-out-of-hell loud. Interestingly though, on the inside, while higher freq sounds are relatively all but absence, the lower frequency sounds have increased by quite a bit, where it manifests as some drone.
